The lead partner of the Interreg Central Europe BEECH POWER Project, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, is looking for a new Interreg Youth Volunteer! The internship starts as soon as possible and ends on the 31st of December 2019!

BEECH POWER

BEECH POWER is a transnational project aiming to develop better management of UNESCO World Heritage Beech forests in Europe. The project unites seven partners (including European Wilderness Society) from five different countries – Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Croatia and Slovakia. The main goal of the project is to improve management quality and effectiveness of the World Heritage site. By improving capacities and active participation possibilities of relevant stakeholders, the ecosystem integrity is safeguarded.

Do you have what it takes?

Eberswalde University is looking for someone between 18 and 30 years old from a European country with very good English and German language skills. You can enjoy working in an international team and have an interest in protecting the primeval beech forests of Europe. If you have a thirst for knowledge, enthusiasm and openness for new experience, then you are a perfect fit!

The tasks you will be working on include:

  • Assisting the project team in the management and implementation of the project (reporing, researching background information, organising data collection etc.)
  • getting involved in communication and dissemination activities (social media, website management, blog posts)
  • attending and reporting project partner meetings and events
  • assisting in the organisation and communication of events

You will be located in Eberswalde, close to Berlin. Eberswalde is also called the “Forest town” due to many forests around it, including the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Schorfheide-Chorin. You will be financially supported with €28 per day for the duration of the volunteership.
