Discussing Wilderness in Germany

Over the past years, Germany has become one of the leading examples in Europe to make room for Wilderness. Just recently, the German provincial Minister for the Environment in Hessen, Priska Hinz, presented the decision to turn a 6 400 hectares commercial Hessian forest into natural forest. In addition, the same Ministry has declared to invest annually 10 million EUR to support purchase of areas. People can let these areas ultimately turn into Wilderness.
