Episode 45: Effective herd protection in Calanda

Livestock in the Calanda region prepares for the cold winter to come, as the last few sunny days go by. The annual count of losses shows how herd guarding dogs effectively protected the sheep in the middle of the Calanda wolf territory.

Looking at the bigger picture, one can state that every year in all of Switzerland only a very small fraction of a single percent of the sheep that summer in the alps are killed by wolves.
