Introducing the WildArtists: Jan Botek

In early August, right in the middle of National Nature Park Synevyr, there will be a WildArt Plein Air event. A group of 10 international artists will hike into the Ukrainian Wilderness with the European Wilderness Society. The WildArt Plein Air event is part of a project Areas of Inspiration, funded by the Creative Europe programme. In this post, we welcome Jan Botek, Czech painter.

Art of diversity

Jan Botek uses different techniques and styles in his art work. This enables him to capture different emotions in a single image. As a result, he attempts to grasp the complexity of nature, people and things around him. During the WildArt Plein Air event in Synevyr Wilderness, Jan Botek and the other artists will be able to experience the (bio)diversity around them. The area holds different valleys, rivers and forests. Furthermore, it provides home to all the carnivores in the Carpathians and endangered species like the Rosalia beetle. The old-growth beech forests will provide an inspiring scenery where the artists like Jan Botek will try to capture their experience on canvas.

Metamorphosis I, by Jan Botek

Jan Botek already participated in other Art Events of the Project “Areas of Inspiration” in Slovakia and Czech Republic, and soon he will enrich his art work in Ukraine with WildArt Plein Air.
