A biologist from the UK, I graduated with a MSc. Conservation and Biodiversity, before spending time working in the field in South Africa, and also in science, literature and cultural events. Now I am delighted to be working with the European Wilderness Society. Notably I develop and contribute towards content such as website articles, reports and journals, and assist with other projects and events such as the European Wilderness Academy.
I am based in the main office in Tamsweg, Austria. Here I enjoy working in the office, and living with the mountains and the Biosphere Reserve Lungau on my doorstep.
I am strongly behind the ethos of the European Wilderness Society and our mission to protect and promote Europe’s last remaining wild places. Wilderness is both a biologically and culturally significant component of our lives, and I am proud to contribute towards its protection.
I believe in the fusion of science with creativity, and will be working to develop Wilderness Writing Workshops. A writer’s shadow can stretch far, and I hope to inspire others to use words to influence, teach and empower, in order to promote Wilderness protection and nature conservation worldwide.
I also write about the more personal aspects of volunteering and living abroad here.
Let’s get wild!
