WILDArt and sustainable tourism

Today Iryna Shchoka, accompanied by Ukrainian artist and Plein Air coordinator, Svitlana Kyrlyk, visited Art residence and green tourism developing object in Smerekova village Smerekova, Ukraine, very close to Uzhanskyy National Nature Park and Trileteral Polish-Slovak-Ukrainian International Biosphere Reserve “Eastern Carpathians”.

The exceptional beauty of the mountain forest in autumn fascinated us and led to many discussions with local active citizen and village revivalist, Mr. Mykola, owner of the guesthouse and implementer of numerous sustainable tourism projects, who invited us for this small but productive brainstorming trip. Horseback riding and hiking on the trails close to the beech forests, hypnotherapy, beekeeping, fresh local products, outdoor camps for youth and kids with special needs, trout pond and pool with spring water that are current and close future offers of Mr. Mykola guesthouse.

The place is already frequented by artists as an excellent Area of Inspiration. And there are already plans to arrange new Plein Air events, but also small exhibitions, which will involve also local population and increase social role of artist.

We hope to continue our cooperation with Mr.Mykola and Mrs. Svetlana also within the project “Areas of Inspiration“.
