The European Wilderness Society is one of Europe’s leading experts in livestock protection of domestic animals against large carnivores. We cooperate with sheep associations, individual sheep farmers, guard dog breeders but also all level of government and international experts in developing and implementing livestock protection measures in the central alpine regions.
One of the many activities is the development of informational material for farmers on how to modify and adapt existing fencing systems to improve protection against wolves, foxes and golden jackals. We cooperate here closely with the Swiss agricultural agency AGRIDEA.
We also hold regular seminars and workshops to all interest groups and stakeholder on the different methods of protecting livestock against large carnivores.
We are not participating in any active resettlement or reintroduction projects of large carnivores.
