Introducing the WildArtists: Svitlana Kyrlyk

National Nature Park Synevyr will welcome a group of Dutch, Austrian, Czech, Romanian and Ukrainian artists in early August. That is the time when the artists will join the European Wilderness Society to hike into the Ukrainian Wilderness. Right in the middle will be the WILDArt Plein Air event. The WILDArt Plein Air event is part of a project Areas of Inspiration, funded by the Creative Europe programme. Following our Romanian, Austrian and Dutch artists, we welcome Svitlana Kyrlyk, Ukrainian painter.

What is Plein air?

The term ‘en plein air’ originates from the French language, meaning ‘in the open air’. Traditionally it was used to describe techniques of outdoor painting. In particular, plein air painting strongly connects with the impressionism of the mid 19th century. Especially for the WILDArt event, the European Wilderness Society invited artists of different domains to a Wilderness art adventure. For this event, we are welcoming artists from five different countries and numerous artistic specialisations. Svitlana Kyrlyk is an experienced plein air painter from Ukraine. With her eye for details and use of natural colours, Svitlana Kyrlyk will try to capture the beauty of the Ukrainian Wilderness in her paintings.

The European Wilderness Society visited this Art residence recently. Svitlana Kyrlyk already participated in other Art Events of the Project “Areas of Inspiration” in Slovakia and Czech Republic, and soon she will enjoy the WILDArt Plein Air in Ukraine.
