Wilderness Days registration has started

The Nationalpark Hohe Tauern in Austria will host the first annual conference of the European Wilderness Society dedicated to sharing knowledge, information, scientific results and best practice examples on European Wilderness.

Members of the EU Commission, notable scientists, representatives of governments and numerous protected areas managers will present and listen to on how to get the society in the protection of Wilderness more involved, European Wilderness Policy, Wilderness and the Natura 2000 Network, Monitoring Wilderness, how Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Romania, Italy and Scotland protect Wilderness and much more…

During the Wilderness Days, you will also have the chance to inform yourself about the implications of the new European Wilderness Quality Standards and Audit System as well as provide input to the Draft European Wilderness Convention. This Convention will be presented in 2015 to the European Council and the EU Commission. As a special feature we will also have a presentation on the radioactive effect on Wildlife in Chernobyl.
