The purpose of the workshop was to create a space for networking and exchanging experience between organizations responsible for, or actively involved in designing the management plans for Natura 2000 sites in Central and Eastern Europe. The workshop assisted the protected areas custodians from Germany, Romania, Slovakia and Bulgaria exchanging best practices.
Participants had to present the issues of the protected area they manage (e.g. biodiversity within the area, participatory approach in working with stakeholder groups, appropriate ways to conserve the species and habitats whilst respecting the local socioeconomic and cultural context etc.) and share the good practices, but also the threats.
