Ambitious 2018 Plan
We will release in January our biennial report, the new issue of the European Wilderness Journal, a new European Wilderness Journal Special Issue on Sanitary Logging and the announcement of the European Wilderness Academy Days 2018.
During the first quarter of 2018 we will also release the new and updated European Wilderness Quality Standard 2.0. We will also launch a brand new European Wilderness interpretation Trail Quality Standard System.
Verena, our new international programme manager will fly to the United States to continue the development of our International Wilderness Exchange programme with the US National Park Service, the US National Forest Service and the HNE Eberswalde. She will also visit several Wilderness areas and meet with Wilderness Fellows.
We will visit in 2018 the Balkans, Germany, Scandinavia, the Iberian peninsula, Italy, France and Southern Europe in the never ending search for Wilderness in Europe. We will also lay a special focus on the WILDRivers in Albania and Kosovo. We will also take a second ERASMUS+ student on board.
We will audit and certify several new Wilderness, WILDRivers, WILDIslands, WILDForests and WILDCoasts all across Europe and expand the European Wilderness Network to reach our Objective of 500.000 ha of Wilderness in Europe.
We will also launch a European” Leave no Trace” concept in cooperation with the US based original organisation.
And we hope with your continuing help to identify, designate, steward and promote many great wild places in Europe in 2018 as we possibly can.

Your country is United States so currency auto changed to US Dollars
Our success to protect wilderness depends on your donations! Please help us to fight against illegal logging, the destruction of Europe’s last free flowing rivers, massive deforestation in Eastern Europe and illegal poaching of Large Carnivores. Your donation will also finance Livestock protection measures for shepherds.
Thank you for your support!
