Meeting up with Adventureland Europe
Last week, European Wilderness Society met with Jan Kozlowski from Adventureland Europe in Slovakia. Jan is doing a year-long hike together with his partner Eva, raising money for various charities and projects. Adventureland Europe also supports projects that European Wilderness Society would like to organise in the near future.

Sharing experiences so far
Jan and Vlado Vancura met in Liptovsky Hrádok, in between the Low and High Tatra mountains. While hiking there, Jan noticed that there are lange areas of clear cuts, even in Protected Areas. Currently, many sanitary logging operations are ongoing in Slovakia. In Protected Areas, logging takes place in designated ‘management zones’. In many cases, the logging takes place because of bark beetle control in spruce forests.
Of course, Jan shared the stories of his wild adventures with us. Just recently, Jan and Eva had an unexpected turn of events, which you can read on their website. After meeting up with European Wilderness Society in Slovakia, Jan and Eva will continue the hike westwards towards Germany.
Adventureland Europe
In May, Jan and Eva started in Bulgaria on an adventurous hike through 12 European countries. Together with their NGO “CNG – Culture, Nature and The Good Thing e.V.”, they support over 20 different projects. Everybody can donate to their favourite projects, and the money goes directly there.
