Uzhanskyi National Park

The former deputy director of Uzhanskyi National Park Valik Voloshyn and Max A. E. Rossberg visited Uzhanskyi National Park on a field visit. Valik Voloshyn, now working for the European Wilderness Society, explained in details the challenges as well as the strengths of this great park.

Uzhanskyi is also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list of primeval beech forest in which now also Zacharovani Krai has been added as a tentative site.

During a more than 3 1/2 hour meeting future expansion areas were discussed with the director as well as the scientific director of the park. A follow-up meeting is already planned.
