Hainich WILDForest Brief
Today we are releasing a new Wilderness Brief about Hainich WILDForest, which is found in Germany. This woodland is composed of old-growth beech forest, a rare fragment of an ecosystem that once covered most of Europe. For this reason, Hainich WILDForest is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe’.

In this Wilderness Brief you can read about the Wilderness, biodiversity and tourism opportunities available at Hainich WILDForest. This Brief is one of many that we have produced for each member of the European Wilderness Network, which you can read more about here.
