Visiting Majella Wilderness

Today European Wilderness Society visited the Italian Majella Wilderness. Majella Wilderness is currently the only Italian member of the European Wilderness Network.

Together with Giuseppe (Pino) Marcantonio from the Majella National Park, they hiked several hours right up to the edge of the Wilderness zone.

Along the route we discussed new opportunities for cooperations, project and of course an updated certification with the new European Wilderness Quality System indicators.

The howling of the wolves, close to our Argo-truisms accommodation, rememded us also that Majella is home to 100 wolves and approximately 10 bear is roughly 75 000 hectares.

We are looking forward to return with our team in September to this fantastic Wilderness in Italy, which is frequently visited by thousands of visitors every year.
