New Wilderness volunteers in the European Wilderness Society team are on the horizon! The placements for our short term and one long-term volunteer positions are filled. We are looking to fill the last spot, and we offer a unique opportunity: a year-long journey with the European Wilderness Society. The position offers full financial coverage and is located in the Biosphere Reserve Lungau. If you are up for a wild adventure, don’t hesitate, send us your application!

I did not want to miss out on my time I had as a volunteer at the European Wilderness Society. I made a lot of great experiences, learned many new skills and grew personally.
The time in Tamsweg has really flown by within this exciting opportunity to work in nature conservation and live in the beautiful UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Lungau. In summary, this year was truly full of opportunities for learning and personal growth, skiing and hiking and regular dinners with the team.

- have a good knowledge of English language and preferably a good understanding of German
- would like to contribute to the goals of a Wilderness and environmental advocacy organisation
- are fascinated by Wilderness and enjoy spending time in the outdoors
- are up for a wild adventure
Volunteering is fully financed through the European Solidarity Corps, and allows you to live in the beautiful UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Lungau in the Austrian Alps. You will be helping with projects like LIFEstockProtect, Centralparks and BEECH POWER, Biodiversität im Wald and Let´s get wild, among many others. Besides experiencing the day-to-day activities of a nature conservation NGO, you will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors in the Austrian Alps and further.
