Ancient and Primeval Forest

Both Zacharovanyy kray Wilderness and WILDForest include old-growth beech forests, of the same kind that once covered the majority of the European continent, but are now very rare. Because of this rare forest, the Wilderness is also of high international importance, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe.
