Europe’s Biodiversity – Isn’t it beautiful?

May 22 is designated as the International Day for Biological Diversity. Let’s celebrate this day with a few beautiful images of our diverse European biological values.

The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 The International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. Wilderness played essential role in creating the variety of species, but Wilderness is currently under threat and only covers around 1% of our European territory. We sincerely hope that this day dedicated to biodiversity will call people’s attention also to preserve and restore Wilderness attributes across the continent.

This is why the protection of Wilderness is so vital for Europe. And this is why our society argues to create the European Wilderness Network.

And now…enjoy the images and help us to continue our essential work to protect Europe’s last great places of Wilderness for future generations.
